So...Yeah.

I've been lazy... to a certain extenet.
I've been studying like crazy for my Introductory Sociology CLEP (which I passed!) that at the end of the day, all I've wanted to do is to crash on the couch with the family and my buddy Netflix.
So I've come to the decision to not limit myself on what I'll be posting. I tend to be a procrastinater, and so I'll be lucky if I get two blogposts a month! (insert sheepish grin here)
So for this post, I'm advertising!
What am I advertising?
Neckwarmers!!!

These lovely neckwarmers are now available custom made for $22.95. (Your choice of yarn and buttons)
Since it is very lightweight, shipping shouldn't be more than $2.
I ship only in the U.S.
I will be putting up an Etsy shop in the near future where I'll be selling some stock neckwarmers for about $19.95.
On another note...I also make...Ponchos!

(extra detail on the collar.)
These I have no price for...I'm actually just showing it off! :P
As for a movie...I just have to say I can't wait for THE HOBBIT!!!
The trailer on IMDb was awesome!!!
I've never had a trailer get me so worked up before!
(hehe)
And now I must go to work on my mother's Christmas present...

It's Been a Long, Long Time

Literally.
And the song...
If you haven't heard it, look it up.
This song was sung by Kitty Kallen and the orchestra conducted by Harry James.
It was the #1 song of 1945...and I bet you can guess why!
I admit it: I'm a sucker for 40's music. :)
So, I missed days 6 and 7 of the challenge. (Blogging I mean. I did actually dress according to the plan.)
Unfortunately my pictures are on a different computer and my homegroup network isn't working so I'll just have to do without.
My friend and piano teacher Sydni suggested I blog about movies, music, and crafts since that is what I know best. So I have decided that Tuesdays are Old Movie/TV days, Thurdays are New Movie/TV days, and either Saturday or Sunday will be craft day. I'll even sneak in a few things about music at random. :P
Since it's Wednesday, and tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I think I'll combine both Tuesday and Thursday's topics!
As for an old movie...I just re-watched Laura with Gene Tierney and Dana Andrews.
I just love Dana Andrews. He is one of my favorite b&w actors. (Second only to Cary Grant)
And Gene Tierney? Can we say gorgeous?
This is one of the most classic detective movies before Hitchcock, and I fell in love with it!
Now for a new(er) TV show...or at least a re-boot of an old one: Doctor Who!!!
Yes, I'm a crazy BBC fan. Aliens and strange places. All done with British accents! Can it get any better? I love, love, LOVE the 10th doctor, played by the fabulous David Tennent.
Look at that cute grin!
His personality is the best! He's witty and funny, and so BRILLIANT!
And that conludes this post...for the present!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

FFC Day 4

Today's challenge was to wear something from my favorite era, but the only clothes I had for my favortie era's (1940's and 50's) were way too fancy for today. So I decided to go with my next favorite fashion era (at least the one I have an outfit for) and that is the 70's. I  love the high waisted bell bottoms and the loose blouses and long skirts! They are so groovy! :)
Today I tried to find something that would be practical and 70's and this is what I came up with:
Charlotte Russe knit empire waist tunic (hand me down), Tan Modbe layering tee (a shop in Morro Bay, CA), So jeans (Khol's), Tan Croft & Barrow heels (Khol's) brown Jessica Simpson floppy hat (Dillards).
Just so you know, the hat was only $1 at Dillards! (A screaming deal for me!)
Here's a close-up on the hat:
And on the shoes:

Today I got a chance to study for my American Government CLEP exam with another College Plus! student! He and were both grateful for the time to work with someone other than ourselves!
I guess now is a good time to explain what CLEP and College Plus! are.
CLEP is a College Level Examination Program. It's a multiple choice test that if passed, gains you 3-6 college credits. American Government, for example, is a 100 question test to be finished in 90 min. and is worth 3 credits.
College Plus! is a coaching facility that assigns you a coach to help you finish a four year B.A. in two years. They help you plan a degree template, and decide which college you wish to obtain your degree from. I'm going through Thomas Edison State College, who is now officially affiliated with College Plus!. Because I chose a degree in History, I will be able to test out of all but two of my classes. Those two classes I will take online through the college.
So why don't you check it out?

Allons-y!

FFC Day 3

Today's challenge: Tuesday - Bold Tights {color, prints, patterns, lace-y...}

Grey dress (Khol's), purple Sonoma cami (Khol's), Denim jacket (Khol's), purple tights (Target), black and violet Van's (Khol's)

I bet you can guess where I shop the most! I just happen to have a Khol's and a Walmart less than a mile away from my house. Very convenient!

I aslo am very excited as I have received Inheritance in the mail today!
(For those of you who don't know what that is, it's the 4th book in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle.) I can't wait to start it! But then I'm also doing NaNoWriMo this year and have been very lacking. I guess it's due in part to my studying for my college exam on American Government. I guess I'll just have to write a lot at the end of the month.
TTFN...TaTa For Now!

FFC Day 2

So far I have been having a lot of fun with this! Today's challenge was to wear colors that don't normally go together. I chose pink and red. I really don't understand why pink and red are considered to be unfit for each other! I think they compliment each other very well. (Thinking of Valentines Day) Maybe it just depends on the shades of pink and red. So without further ado...

(Please excuse the poor lighting on the pics of the shoes and scarf. I'm really a terrible photographer!)

Pink Miley Cyrus blouse (Walmart), black So pants (Kohl's), red Chaps belt (Kohl's), red scarf (knit by me), Red Madden Girl heels (Amazon).

Trying to get my picture outside today was a little difficult. I live in Arizona just a couple miles away from the Superstition Mountains and we've been getting a little rain.
Rain in Arizona? Unusual, yes, but definitely a wonderful break from the past summer heat. We FINALLY got a cold front. As a man at our church said, (and I paraphrase) "We went from summer, to fall, to winter in one week. You gotta love Arizona."
The weather has been gorgeous, but unfortunately came on too fast. We had no winter clothes for 5 of my younger siblings and I have almost no long sleeve shirts. So I've been wearing t-shirts and jeans with a hoodie a lot lately. :)
For now, I think I'll just sit back and enjoy the weather from the warmth and comfort of my home.
Au Revoir!

FFC Day 1

It's day one of the Fall Fashion Challenge. So here it is:
White blouse(Walmart), Grey skirt(Christopher&Banks), Black boots(Famous Footwear)
This is what was called by my friend Miss Andrea, the "Lawyer look".

Now for something non-fashion related.
I'm going salsa dancing tonight!
I've never been out dancing, so this will be fun!

Fall Fashion Challenge

I guess the only reason I started a blog was because I wanted to participate in this challenge.

So now I have a blog.
Now what?
Well, I have a friend who suggested I blog about movies since I am an obsessed user of IMDb. Maybe I'll do that. Or maybe I'll just blog about whatever hobby I'm really into at the time.
For now, just join in the fun and become a part of the Fall Fashion Challenge!
Allons-y!
